How does Radiesse work?


Radiesse works with your body below the skins surface. It is an injectable filler made of synthetic minerals. Tiny calcium based microspheres form a "scaffold" to support and stimulate the growth of your own collagen. Over time the calcium breaks down and is safely and naturally absorbed by your body. The results are immediate and lasting approximately a year.


Where can Radiesse be used?


For facial contouring, Radiesse can be used for smoothing and contouring lines, acne scarring,nasal labial folds, marionette lines and cheek, chin or jawline augmentation. Radiesse can also be used to improve nasal tip projection and nasal bridge augmentation.


How long does it last?


One treatment may last a year or longer, but by having touch up treatments results may last up to 18 months to 2 years.

What are the side effects?


Normal injection reactions, such as mild irritation, swelling, bruising and tenderness. As with any injectable infection is possible.


What should patients do prior to treatment?


Avoid using aspirin, ibuprofen, St. Johns Wort, or high doses of Vitamin E supplement because these may increase bruising or bleeding at injection sites.
